WHAT'S THE PROJECT?
I will design a set of stamps around an important British topic. I chose iconic British wildlife.
RESEARCH
CHARLEY HARPER
Charley Harper was best known for his highly stylised wildlife prints, posters, and book illustrations. He created his work was mostly produced in the form of silk screen prints. I will take inspiration from him.

OWEN DAVEY
Owen Davey is a contemporary illustrator who also illustrates lots of wildlife. He has clear Charley Harper influence but works primarily in Adobe software.

While I like these stamps, I think the deer and the owl are clearly the most successful. Not too fond of the others. I entered these stamps into a local exhibition and sold a print of the owl, which was quite special to me. The deer lives in my bathroom now.
